ROTARY LOOKOUT

Public BBQ

The Rotary Lookout delivers one of Queensland's most accessible scenic rewards, despite intimidating signage warning of "experienced hikers only." The reality proves far gentler - well-maintained concrete steps and a clear path through striking granite formations lead to a steel mesh viewing platform in roughly ten minutes. Families needn't hesitate; toddlers manage the ascent in sandals, and the gradient never punishes. From the summit, Horseshoe Bay spreads below in magnificent panorama, with Murray Bay completing the coastal theatre. On crystalline days, the distant Whitsunday Islands shimmer on the horizon like scattered emeralds.
